The new church home for Grace Hill Church

Grace Hill’s New Chapter: The Story Behind Our New Home

Over the past several months, our church has been praying and asking God to guide our future. We explored options, evaluated buildings, and looked honestly at the challenges of meeting in a portable space. Nothing was clear, yet we kept praying and trusting that God would meet us at the right time.

What we didn’t know was that another congregation, Kirk Christian Church, was praying at the same time. After decades of ministry, they had reached the difficult decision to close. They began asking God what to do with their building and remaining resources. Their desire was that the property would continue to be used for the work of Christ.

The week after their final service, we were invited to see the building. Their trustees shared stories, memories, and ultimately, what they believed God was asking them to do. They didn’t want to rent it. They didn’t want to sell it. They wanted to give it away.

They felt led to entrust their church building, property, and remaining assets to Grace Hill, with one request, that it remain a church.

It became immediately clear that God was doing something we could not have planned. Their act of generosity and faith came right in the middle of our own season of discernment. It was a gift, humbling, unexpected, and deeply aligned with what we had been praying for.

This move places us in the heart of a growing and diverse community. Within ten minutes of the new campus, more than twelve thousand people live, many of them young families, many of them carrying needs and hopes we are eager to meet with grace and peace. It gives us a permanent home, will eventually reduce our facility costs dramatically, and opens new possibilities for ministry, outreach, and long-term stability.

We remain the same church with the same vision: to become a community of grace and peace for the good of our city and the fame of Jesus. Now we get to do that with deeper roots and wider reach. God has been faithful every step of the way, and we are stepping into this new season with gratitude, expectancy, and open hands.

In the coming weeks, we’ll share more about the transition, renovations, and the practical steps ahead. We’re committed to walking this season together with clarity and gratitude.

And as we step into this new chapter, we hold onto Paul’s words in Ephesians 3:20–21: that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine… and that to Him belongs the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all generations.

This story is one more reminder that He is doing exactly that.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why is Grace Hill moving to a new building?
This move wasn’t driven by our plans but by God’s provision. Another congregation, Kirk Christian Church, reached out after their final service and offered to entrust their building, property, and remaining assets to Grace Hill. Their desire was that the space continue to be used for the gospel, and we believe this opportunity aligns with what we’ve been praying for over the past several months.

2. Where is the new building located?
The new church home is located at 6070 Raleigh Lagrange Drive, about twelve minutes from our current meeting space.

3. When will we begin meeting there?
Our hope is to hold our first worship service in the new building in late January. This timeline depends on renovation work, inspections, and the completion of the legal transfer. We will communicate updates each step of the way.

4. What renovations are planned?
The building is in excellent structural condition, but it needs thoughtful updates to better serve families, kids, hospitality, and accessibility. Renovations will be funded through the financial assets gifted by Kirk Christian Church, allowing us to move in without adding financial strain.

5. How does this change affect our mission and ministries?
It strengthens them.
We remain the same church with the same vision: to become a community of grace and peace for the good of our city and the fame of Jesus. Our ministries, Tables, small groups, serving Germantown Elementary, supporting the Family Resource Center, will continue and expand with deeper stability and new opportunities.

6. Will this move impact our presence in Collierville and Germantown?
Not at all. We will still serve, gather, and partner in those communities. The new location simply widens our reach and places us near an area of the county we have not yet been able to engage meaningfully.

7. What does this mean financially for Grace Hill?
Receiving a permanent building dramatically changes our financial picture. Moving from leased space to a donated property can eventually reduce our facility costs by roughly 75–80 percent, which will help to close our budget gap and allows more resources to go directly toward ministry.

8. How can I help during this transition?
There are three simple ways to participate:

1. Pray for wisdom, unity, and the community we will soon serve.
2. Share the story as we make public announcements.
3. Show up for work days and preview events as we prepare the building.

9. Will the church change its culture because of this move?
The heart of Grace Hill remains the same. We are holding our values tightly: Belonging, Partnering, Celebrating, Forgiving and Listening. The move gives us space and stability, not a new identity. If anything, it positions us to live our vision more fully.

10. Is there anything we should be concerned about?
Every transition brings questions, but we are approaching this with clarity, due diligence, and prayer. We are committed to transparency, wise planning, and caring for our congregation through every step.

11. Who can I contact if I have more questions?
You’re welcome to reach out to Pastor Jason, any elder, or a member of our staff team. We’ll continue offering updates and opportunities for conversation as we move forward together.

Supporting Grace Hill Through This Transition

This new chapter for Grace Hill is an answered prayer. We have been asking the Lord to guide us, provide for us, and show us the way forward, and He has done that with kindness and clarity. As we step into this new season, we want to invite you to be part of what God is doing through your generosity.

There are a few meaningful ways you can support Grace Hill financially during this transition:

1. Begin giving, if you have not yet taken that step. Regular generosity helps create stability as we move into our new home.

2. Increase your regular giving, if you are able, to help us navigate the transition with wisdom and confidence.

3. Make a one-time gift to support the work ahead, including preparing the building and strengthening our ministry for the future.

Every gift, large or small, helps us steward this answered prayer well. Thank you for being part of this story.
